Math

Please help your first grader memorize the basic addition and subtraction facts to 12 (ex. 8 + 4).   Second graders need to memorize the basic addition and subtraction facts to 18 (ex. 9+9).

Another way you can help your child with math objectives is to help them with telling time, recognition of coins, and counting the value of a set of coins.

Rocket Math:  Each child sets his or her own goal for a one minute test over addition and subtraction fact families.  Children practice facts and then take a one minute test.  Goals increase as the year progresses and children memorize the facts.  The objective is to memorize the facts and to gain speed and accuracy with them.
